TV Brazil will broadcast daily four hours of regional programming and other four hours of independent productions, said the minister of Social Communication of the Presidency of the Republic, Franklin Martins, in a public hearing held on Tuesday (26) at the Committee on Science, Technology, Innovation, Communication and Computer Science (CCT).

Most of the senators who attended the hearing showed their concern with the regionalization of public television. The provisional measure that creates Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC), the company responsible for TV Brazil, arrived to  Senate last Wednesday, after it was approved by the Chamber of Deputies.

The minister informed that EBC intends to integrate several regional stations to create a public broadcasting service modeled after European broadcasters, particularly the BBC and France Television.

- The administration model adopted, with the creation of a council of curators, gives  the society an opportunity to participate, as it happens  in all  public broadcasting stations of  developed countries -  observed the minister.
