Serrano says she will have a balanced position at Investigation Committee

Senator Marisa Serrano (PSDB-MS) said on Wednesday (27) she will have a balanced position as head of the Joint Investigation Committee on Corporate Credit Cards. She also denied the possibility of a political deal which would set aside of the investigations both presidents Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Fernando Henrique Cardoso.
The senator said that balance and commitment are necessary “in order to get the job done” and satisfy the society.
- Hopefully we’ll do a serious and balanced investigation, giving everyone the chance to speak out and participate – she said.
The first step of the committee, she reminded, is to define a working schedule. She refused giving out any information about the investigations before talking to the rapporteur of the committee, deputy Luiz Sérgio (PT-RJ). Serrano highlighted that it is important to clarify the facts, and reinforce procedures in order to prevent any further misapplications of public money, so that society will not have to face this kind of problem again.
