Congress reaches agreement to change provisional measures

Constitutional amendment (PEC)

The Senate and the Chamber of Deputies will vote as soon as possible the proposal of constitutional amendment (PEC) destined to simplify the legislative procedure for provisional measures. Usually, provisional measures are not analyzed in due time, and end up stopping deliberation of all other bills in both Houses.

The amendment, which has already been voted by the Senate, was forwarded to the Chamber of Deputies, and will be revised by the Senate. This decision was taken during a meeting last Tuesday (19), attended by the presidents of both legislative Houses, Garibaldi Alves and Arlindo Chinaglia, as well as other leaders.

- The Senate will cooperate with the Chamber of Deputies to reach the most consensual text - declared Garibaldi, remembering that the bill that changes procedures of legislative measure was first defended by the late Senator Antonio Carlos Magalhães, from Bahia.
