To strenghten economic and political relations between Brazil and the Grand Dukedom of Luxembourg was the purpose of the visit of grain-duke Henri of Luxembourg, who was accompanied by businessmen from the European country. He had a meeting with the Senate acting president, Tião Viana (PT-AC), on Wednesday (28).

Tião Viana explained to him the strategies adopted by Brazilian government to improve income distribution. He also said that, in its efforts to strengthen relations especially with countries of Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asian, Brazil has turned out to be a more solidary nation. The duke said that he was impressed by Brazilian energy policy, particularly concerning environment preservation.
