Al Gore may discuss global warming with senators

Former United States’ vice-president Al Gore, narrator of the documentary An Inconvenient Truth, may come to the Senate to talk about global warming. A petition with this purpose, whose author is senator Serys Slhessarenko (PT-MT), was approved on Tuesday (15) by the Committee on Environment, Consumer Defense and Auditing (CMA).
Serys reminded the audience that Al Gore has been studying the issue deeply, which makes his presence at the Senate’s debate very important. The senator suggested the meeting should be scheduled for July, when, according to her, the former vice president would be in Brazil.
Senator Sibá Machado (PT-AC) suggested a general meeting, since many of the Senate’s committees and subcommittees are concerned about the theme. According to Senator Fátima Cleide (PT-RO), the event must be held at the Senate’s Plenary.
