Constitutive record of Mercosul Parliament must be signed in December
The constitutive record of Mercosul Parliament must be signed at the end of the plenary meeting of Mercosul Joint Parliamentary Committee (CPCM), which is likely to take place on December 15th, in Montevideo. The inaugural session of this new organism will be set during the meeting. It may be held in Brasília, coinciding with the Mercosul Presidents Summit, on January 18th and 19th.

Mercosul Parliament inauguration in December will be an important step for Mercosul institutionalization, said first class minister Regis Percy Arslanian, on Thursday (23). The presidential message which designates Arslanian to the post of permanent Brazilian delegate at Mercosul and Latin American Association of Integration (ALADI) was accepted by the Committee on Foreign Relations and National Defense ( CRE ).
Zambiasi celebrates approval of Mercosul Parliament by Uruguay
The approval of Mercosul Parliament Constitutive Protocol by Uruguayan House of Deputies was celebrated by pro tempore president of Mercosul Joint Parliamentary Committee (CPCM), senator Sérgio Zambiasi (PTB-RS). He believes the Uruguayan decision will make it possible that the new Parliament is inaugurated - as planned - still during Brazil term as Mercosul president.
CRE amendment favors Focem enlargement
An increase in Brazilian government's resources for Mercosul Structural Convergence Fund ( Focem ) is to be established by one of the five amendments which will be submitted to 2007 Federal Budget by the Committee on Foreign Relations and National Defense ( CRE ).
Crivella reports his participation in the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the Americas
On Wednesday (22), senator Marcelo Crivella (PRB-RJ) briefly reported to the Plenary his participation in the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the Americas, held in Bogotá, on November 19 to 21. He was indicated to represent the Senate by its president, Renan Calheiros.
Ideli praises president Lula’s attempts for a party coalition
Worker's Party leader in the Senate Ideli Salvatti (SC) wished president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva success in his initiative for the creation of a party coalition for supporting him at the National Congress during his term. Ideli stressed it would be a “great change” in relations between the Executive and Legislative, which would favor Brazilian politics.
Marco Maciel comments convention regarding global climate changes
During his speech on Wednesday (22), senator Marco Maciel (PFL-PE) made comments on the recent Climate Convention of the United Nations (UN), in Nairobi, Quenia. In the meeting, the influence of the global climate changes in world's economy and the human being survival were analyzed.
