Inaugural Session of Mercosul Parliament will strengthen the bloc, says Zambiasi
The inaugural session of Mercosul Parliament, according to senator Sérgio Zambiasi (PTB-RS), president of Mercosul Joint Parliamentary Committee (CPCM), will be an important element for the consolidation of the bloc. And Mercosul strengthening, he also believes, will lead to a new stage in South American unity development.
First meeting will take place in December, senator tells the Plenary
The inaugural session of Mercosul Parliament will come about on December 14th, at the National Congress in Brasília. The date for the inauguration was announced by senator Sérgio Zambiasi (PTB-RS), the current president of Mercosul Joint Parliamentary Committee (CPCM), on Wednesday (18), during a Plenary meeting.
Supreme Electoral Court publishes the profiles of 27 elected senators
The Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) has published the profiles of 27 senators elected on October 1st. The information about their professions, included on the register, show that four of them are farmers and other four came from the House of Deputies.

Days before the elections’ second turn, senator Marco Maciel (PFL-PE) pointed out the importance of a faster economic growth and the consolidation of Brazilian institutions, by means of a political reform. If the latter is a challenge faced by the Congress, he observed, the next president will be responsible for leading the country to higher rates of economic growth.
