Brazil should lead Kyoto Protocol updating, Goldemberg says
Brazil should use its political strength in the environmental sector in order to initiate negotiations to update the Kyoto Protocol, the physicist José Goldemberg recommended on Wednesday (14), during a public hearing promoted by the Permanent Subcommittee destined to follow the International Climate Change Regime, which is linked to the Committee on Foreign Affairs and National Defense (CRE).
Maciel wants Brazil to host UN’s environmental agency
Senator Marco Maciel (PFL-PE) defended, on Wednesday (14) that a United Nations (UN) sector body on environment protection should be settled in Brazil. According to him, this measure might represent international acknowledgement of Brazilian role in environmental issues since it hosted UN Summit for Environment, Rio-92, in 1992.
CI suggests a new Conference on Environment
